Leaking Lands & Pleasure Practice:

A Conversation with Roxana Fabius, luciana achugar and Ofri Cnaani
601Artspace | September 20, 2026 | 1:00 PM

Join us at 601Artspace for a conversation between Leaking Collections curator Roxana Fabius, exhibition artist Ofri Cnaani, and Cnaani’s collaborator, choreographer luciana achugar.

Cnaani's Leaking Lands is a three-channel video installation that recounts the story of a devastating fire in Brazil's National Museum that destroyed two centuries' worth of treasures, leaving almost no physical trace of the building or collection After a screening of the installation, Cnaani will discuss the research process behind the piece. Then Achugar will present Pleasure Practice, the choreographic method she applied to the digital remnants of the Museo Nacional in Leaking Lands, which aims to liberate the body from programmed ways of being and opening space for a freer, uncivilized way of existing.

The artists will reflect on their techniques, the disciplines and histories that inspire their work, and the shared questions their practices raise. We’ll finish with a short interactive introduction to Pleasure Practice. Comfortable clothing is recommended.

Please come on time as space is limited.
