Fridge, 2019, cardboard, plaster, acrylic, 61 x 72 x 24 inches

Fridge is one of a series of sculptures inspired by domestic appliances that contain a multitude of meanings. The refrigerator is both space and object - a device we anthropomorphize, finding its consistent hum and cool interior light a source of comfort. Its contents, or lack or contents, are intimate glimpses into our lives, making the fridge a symbol of stability or instability in the home. My work is constructed from packaging, cardboard, and wrappers - materials that are considered disposable, yet play a vital role in contemporary life.
