Open Call for Summer Sessions 2024

Submission deadline: December 15th, 2023

In summer 2024 601Artspace will present a season of experimental programming in lieu of a single exhibition. We are holding an open call for events, screenings, micro-exhibitions, dance performances, concerts, workshops, window installations and all manner of gatherings related to art and art practices.

This expands on our first iteration of Summer Sessions in 2019, which featured a wide range of arts events, which you can check out here. Please think both inside and outside the box and submit a proposal for Summer 2024. Events can be as short as two hours, or stretch over two weeks (we are open Thursday-Sunday.) All events and exhibitions must be open to the public. Resources are available for project expenses, and there will be an honorarium based on the scope of the project. The deadline for submission is December 15th, 2023.

To apply, please submit ONE PDF with the following information to proposals@601Artspace.org. Please put your name and “SUMMER” in the subject.

Title, genre and length of event
Up to 500 words describing your concept, including potential participants
Images and/or links if appropriate.
A schematic design if appropriate
A general budget for materials, fabrication and/or participants.
